Delores Craig-Moreland is an associate professor of criminal justice at 麻豆传媒映画出品 State University. She has been at W.S.U. since 1992. Prior to that she was at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in the School of Social and Community services for four years. She received her doctorate from the University of Washington. Before moving to academia Dr. Craig-Moreland worked in social services with troubled teens in the Pacific Northwest. Among her varied experiences was a stint of some five years working the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. Since coming to Kansas in 1992, Dr. Craig-Moreland has been an active participant in all aspects of the criminal justice system. She has conducted conflict resolution for community police officers, sat on law enforcement promotion panels, worked with a committee to revise the selection tests for law enforcement recruits, been an active member of the Kansas Correctional Association, and served on numerous local committees to improve criminal justice. Her most intense interest is juvenile justice and delinquency prevention. She has recently completed a sabbatical doing various forms of applied research with the Kansas Juvenile Justice Authority. Dr. Craig-Moreland worked with a local truancy coalition to expand that program to more fully meet the needs of youth in the community. She worked with the local community planning team to develop a comprehensive juvenile justice plan, and is currently assisting the Sedwick County Juvenile Corrections Advisory Board.
