Grades K-12
Shocker MINDSTORMS
The annual Shocker MINDSTORMS Challenge is a collaboration between the College of Engineering and local industry professionals. The Challenge provides students in grades K-12 with the opportunity for practical application and exhibition of math, science, programming and engineering skills. The Challenge also promotes teamwork, dedication and sportsmanship.

Project Lead the Way (PLTW)
Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is a pre-engineering program for K-12 schools that prepares students to pursue careers in engineering, computer science and related technical fields. In PLTW classes, students complete hands-on activities where they apply and reinforce concepts in math and science while working as part of a team.

Summer Camps
Each year, the College of Engineering offers youth a chance to explore their interests in engineering and computer science through several week-long summer camps for 4th through 12th grades held each summer during June and July.
Grades 6-12
Kansas BEST Robotics
The Kansas BEST Robotics competition, hosted by the WSU College of Engineering, challenges middle and high school students to build a remote-controlled robot using only specific competition kit materials within a eight-week period. The competition inspires and motivates students to pursue degrees and careers in engineering, science and technology through participation in a sports-like contest.
Grades 9-12
Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (IGED)
The College of Engineering at WSU hosts Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day (IGED), a national event commonly known as Girl Day, each February during National Engineers Week. The purpose of an annual Girl Day is to foster a positive connection between young women and STEM. The students participate in hands-on STEM activities, listen to inspirational female speakers and meet women from the engineering and computing industries, including professionals, WSU faculty and students.

Kansas City Engineering Night
Each Spring, the WSU College of Engineering hosts a Kansas City Engineering Night. If you are in the Kansas City area and interested in learning more about engineering and computing, as well as the amazing opportunities available to you at WSU, join us for this special event for high school sophomores and juniors.
