NSF S-STEM Scholarship Program

Program Overview
We are excited to be part of the National Science Foundation (NSF) Scholarship program for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S-STEM). This program aims to increase the success of low-income, academically talented students who have demonstrated financial need who are pursuing degrees in Engineering and Computing with an interest in advanced manufacturing.
In addition to receiving a scholarship, the S-STEM Scholars will receive regular faculty mentoring, and will be able to access internship opportunities and other professional development activities. S-STEM activities will also include mentor meetings, participation in the ACE or Spirit Strong Mentoring program, professional development seminars, and social events dedicated to help support students throughout their time at 麻豆传媒映画出品 State.

Scholarship Amount
The total award will be up to $18,750 spread out over 4 academic years. Final amounts will be determined for each individual student based on their own financial need.

Program Eligibility

Preferred school GPA of 2.5 of higher.
- Letter of support or referral.

U.S Citizen or national, a U.S Permanent Resident, or an alien admitted as a defined in section 101(a) of the Immigration and Nationality Act.

Demonstrated financial need, as indicated by FAFSA Data.

How to apply to be an S-STEM Scholar
- Complete your WSU
- Complete your and indicate on your FAFSA form to send results to WSU to confirm eligibility for this scholarship.
- Compete online form by Friday, January 10th at Midnight.
- On a separate document, word document or video discuss how participating in the S-STEM Program will support your long-term educational goals and future career plans. Please mention why you are interested in the Engineering field and your interest in advanced manufacturing. Your response will be limited to 3500 characters or 3-4 minute video. (1 page single spaced)

- Have one letter of recommendation submitted by your current High School Science, Math or PLTW Teacher. Send your reference the following letter that includes more details about what information is needed for the reference to be completed.
- References will upload their recommendation letters and complete a brief questionnaire for each candidate they are recommending using the
- Finalists will be notified by January 31st and will be asked to participate in an in-person interview on Friday, February 28th from 5:00pm to 7:30pm at John Bardo Center Room 264. More specific details will be emailed to the finalists directly prior to the interview.
