Summer Research Institute (SRI)
About the Program
Spend a week engaged in research-focused academic sessions and collaborating in a faculty鈥檚 research laboratory on 麻豆传媒映画出品鈥檚 main campus. Student research groups will compile a review of literature, formulate an educated hypothesis and methods, conduct data collection, analyze data, and showcase findings in an oral presentation. Collaborate, problem-solve, practice critical thinking skills and begin to establish relationships with fellow incoming peers, undergraduate student mentors, graduate research assistants, and research faculty. Students who complete the SRI program enhance team building and leaderships skills, strengthen research competences and preparedness for First Year Research Experience (FYRE) and other collaborative research opportunities throughout their academic program. This summer program is hosted by WSU鈥檚 Dorothy and Bill Cohen Honors. SRI is a part of the National Science Foundation (NSF) Kansas Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (KS-LSAMP) program to increase minority participation in STEM disciplines at 麻豆传媒映画出品.
Who is eligible? Incoming first-year 麻豆传媒映画出品 State students who are graduated high school seniors or community college transfer students interested in STEM majors.
