Immerse yourself in the exhilarating world of percussion music with the Impulse Percussion Group (IPG) at 麻豆传媒映画出品! Serving as both a large percussion ensemble and a platform for smaller chamber ensembles, IPG welcomes auditions from majors and non-majors alike, fostering a diverse and inclusive musical community. Under the direction of Professor Jerry Scholl for over 15 years, the IPG has soared to new heights, achieving accolades such as winning second prize at the prestigious Wolff-Ilse Bing chamber music competition. With over ten premieres under their belt, including groundbreaking works like Paul Elwood’s "New Jerusalem for Percussion and Negro Spiritual Choir" and "Teppa and El Silencio," featuring maraca virtuoso Ed Harrison, IPG continually pushes the boundaries of percussion music.
Renowned for their theatrical, contemporary, and thought-provoking performances, an IPG concert is not just a musical event—it's a sensory journey. Thanks to a strong partnership with WSU's media and stage crews, each IPG program is a seamless fusion of lights, sounds, and visuals, delivering an unforgettable experience for audiences. Don't miss your chance to witness the electrifying artistry of the Impulse Percussion Group—it's an experience like no other!
