Is My Class "in Ultra"?

麻豆传媒映画出品 State began the transition to Ultra in May, 2021. The first step in this process was a largely cosmetic change that impacted the login experience for all users. Nevertheless, most classes at the university are still being offered in "old" Blackboard. As an instructor, if you have not taken the purposeful action of converting your class materials to Ultra, or if you are not using an Ultra course provided to you by the Office of Instructional Resources, your course is not yet "in Ultra."

While it can be confusing, it's helpful to think of Ultra as being two separate things: 1) the environment where all courses are housed, 2) the courses themselves. When 麻豆传媒映画出品 State moved to Ultra in May, 2021, all that changed was the environment where all courses are housed.  The university will be moving toward having all courses in the Ultra course format by the end of the 2022 semester, and instructors will be the ones who make the decision when to teach their courses in the Ultra course format.

Logging in to a class is the easiest way to tell if it is in "old" Blackboard or Ultra.  If your course has a side menu that looks something like this, your course is in "old" Blackboard:

If you are looking for help in an "old" Blackboard course, you should select links from the "In This Section" on OIR's classic Blackboard training pages.

But if the course menu looks like this when you login, you are in an Ultra course:

If you are looking for help for an Ultra course, you should select links from the "In This Section" on OIR's Ultra training pages.
