About

Each year, the Maternal Child Nursing Symposium seeks to expand our knowledge in women’s, infant’s and children’s health care. This one day symposium brings national and local expert faculty to the virtual platform to present on a wide variety of pertinent topics. 
Attended virtually or join us in-person at the 鶹ýӳƷ State Metropolitan Complex at 5015 East 29th St N, 鶹ýӳƷ, KS 67220.

$60 Regular Rate (Register after September 26th)

$70 Week-of-event Rate (Register the week of October 21st)

If you have registered for an event before, you may see a New Registration section on the top of your page. Click the blue "New Registration" button to continue.

You should be then be directed to Add a Registration by entering a code. Type code 24MCNS and click the blue "Submit Code" button to continue to the registration form. Fill out the form and pay to complete your registration.

Ironing Out Misconceptions in Common Childhood Anemia

Objectives:

  1. Review pertinent labs associated with iron deficiency anemia.
  2. Be able to discuss common treatments and recommendations for patients with iron deficiency.
  3. Be able to identify red flags in the anemic child.

Perinatal Mental Health
Jennifer Harned Adams, PhD, Clinical Health Psychologist, Center for Maternal Fetal Health, Presbyterian/St. Lukes & Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children

Objectives:

  1. Identify the range of emotional responses common during pregnancy, postpartum and during baby’s first year and guidelines on when it is important to refer for additional support.
  2. Discuss strategies as well as local and online resources to support families.

Nursing:
The 鶹ýӳƷ College of Health Professions is approved as a provider of continuing nursing education by the Kansas State Board of Nursing. This course offering is approved for 7.5 contact hours applicable for RN, LPN, or LMHT relicensure.  Kansas State Board of Nursing provider number: LT 0090-0327. 

EMS/RRT:
This program offers 6.25 hrs of cardiac-specific EMS CEs. Participants will need to self-submit retroactively.
