An integral pillar of our strategic plan says all members in the community will feel valued and respected, regardless of ancestry, color, disability, ethnicity, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, marital status, national origin, political affiliation, pregnancy race, religion, sex, sexual orientation or status as a veteran. In addition, the University will capitalize on distinctive, unique campus cultures while encouraging strong institutional unity.
Inclusive Excellence is an ongoing, collaborative process uniting 麻豆传媒映画出品 State students, faculty, staff, administrators and alumni in the work of embedding diversity, equity and inclusiveness throughout campus. We will continue to develop programs that make the campus a welcoming and inclusive place for all, while continuing to commit 麻豆传媒映画出品 State's talented people to the improvement of the entire community and serving as a catalyst for positive social change.

An excellent discussion that ends with a 10-point plan of real steps and policies that can be implemented to address anti-Blackness in schools, colleges and universities.
- This is a working document with the goal of better understanding anti-racist pedagogy in higher education.
- The University of Kansas has a Justice Action Toolkit that provides resources to support community members working towards racial justice and gender equity, and indeed injustice in its many forms.
Responding to Racial Injustice - As a higher education institution, we believe in the dignity of each and every person. 麻豆传媒映画出品 denounces racism in all forms and commit to working with our network to confront inequality and systemic racial injustice.
- The fear of Coronavirus has resulted in incidents of bias and harassment against Chinese nationals, Chinese Americans, and people of Asian heritage here, and worldwide. Shockers United - In the face of the worldwide COVID-19 outbreak, 麻豆传媒映画出品 State's first priority is the health, safety and well-being of our entire Shocker community. In accordance with guidance from the State of Kansas, Sedgwick County and federal government, 麻豆传媒映画出品 State University has developed a three-phase plan to safely return students, faculty and staff to our campus.
The Office of Diversity and Inclusion aims to cultivate and sustain an inclusive campus. We strive for academic excellence by creating an environment that educates, empowers and mobilizes our students, campus and community. In our community, our members view themselves as ambassadors for fundamental freedoms and respect the differences in others.
The office provides dynamic programs, which range from speakers and film showings to award ceremonies, cultural festivities and LGBTQA programming 鈥 each representing a small piece of the diversity displayed on the WSU campus.
Throughout the year, the office offers an array of academic, cultural, social and outreach programs. In student programs and organizations like Promoting Academic Student Success, Ready 2 Work Professional Development Program and Ambassadors for Diversity and Inclusion, students are given the opportunity to learn more about diversity and the resources available to provide a more rewarding college experience.

Care Team - The Care Team provides a proactive and supportive multidisciplinary team approach to prevention, assessment and intervention for situations that may interfere with students or employees functioning to their full potential. Concerns can be submitted online and can be submitted anonymously.
Career Closet - The Career Closet gives students access to free professional clothing for career fairs, interviews and professional development opportunities.
Counseling and Prevention Services (CAPS) - Counseling and Prevention Services provides quality mental health services to enrolled students, faculty and staff and presents programs and training on topics promoting personal growth and optimal wellbeing. Services are by appointment, low cost and confidential. CAPS is located at the Student Wellness Center inside the Steve Clark YMCA and can be reached via phone at (316) 978-4SWC (4792).
International Education - International Education is responsible for all aspects of interaction with international students and scholars that relate to their student success and ensuring institutional compliance with U.S. immigration regulations.
